Many people know the famous heroes by names like Batgirl, Supergirl, or Bumblebee! However, in this animated movie, the girls must save the world and navigate Super High together while serving up some major girl power. GeekRockTV talked to the voice of Supergirl, Anais Fairweather at the 2017 Wondercon.
Fairweather shared the premise of the movie DC Superhero Girls Intergalactic Games where she is the voice of Supergirl. In the movie, three different teams including Super Hero High are battling each other in a series of games. However, they must ultimately come together to fend off the evil that is plaguing their world.
Fairweather said she always loved superheroes like Batman and TMNT which makes her perfect for the role. Though she shines as Supergirl she would want to play a character like Catwoman.
She said that she didn’t start out as a voice actor, although it was something that she had always wanted to do. Instead she was an actor doing comedy as well as live theater. When it comes to being in a superhero animation, Fairweather shared that it can be harder to save your voice when working on those action and fighting sequences. She turns to a good night’s sleep and a lot of throat coat to get her through the day. If you want to hear more from Anais Fairweather, you can catch her as the voice of Supergirl on DC Superhero Girls!
