Bohemian Rhapsody

2486dd1489746b1b1859205e6e943a08Queen has it’s name carved in the history books of Rock N Roll and Bohemian Rhapsody shows us exactly why. The biopic surrounding the career of Farrohk Bulsara or as me all know him, Freddie Mercury the lead singer and front man for the iconic Queen. The film displayed some of the band’s most memorable moments throughout their journey, from the group’s inception to their renowned performance at Live Aid in 1985. Rami Malek, Gwilym Lee, Joseph Mazzello, and Ben Hardy comprise the members of Queen and provide electric performances as Freddie Mercury, Brian May, John deacon, and Roger Taylor and provide insight into some of the band’s struggles.

The movie started off feeling a little rushed but maybe that’s because it starts where it ultimately leaves off, with the music festival of the millennium Live Aid. While each major moment in the band’s story is told but we all know how powerful Queen’s performance at Wembley Stadium is and the way in which it is depicted has that same power. Pay close attention and you will see and hear nods to some of the other legendary acts played the event, my favorite being the tail end of Dire Straits playing Sultans of Swing. The highs, the lows, the heart ache but also heart pounding moments of Freddie Mercury can be seen on November 2nd so don’t miss out on Bohemian Rhapsody.

I’m a full blown fanboy that is waist deep in everything from comic books, TV shows, movies, anime, and the lot. Growing up my Dad was extremely influential in providing the best of the best in terms of classic sources of entertainment which has undoubtedly shaped my interests to this day. While I definitely have more of an interest in Marvel I am not out of the loop when it comes to DC, Darkhorse, or Image comics as wells as each’s additional media content. I love the comic book culture and when I’m not geeking out I’m listening to or playing music and skateboarding around San Diego, which is way better than New Jersey.  Instagram @SeanPlundekeView My Blogs
