You are something to look forward to, a trustworthy trouper, a deviation from inconsiderate charges and a hope among the darkness of our bedrooms and the oppressive gleam of the early afternoon. Your peers pale in comparison to you. You are extraordinary. Thank you for being you, Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich.
In the heart of Santa Barbara stands one of many successful Chick-fil-A chains. Marketed as a family organization, this particular Chick-fil-A graciously welcomes families of hungover college students in their sweatpants, flip-flops and polarized Ray-Bans, all ready to indulge in a beautifully excessive intake of chicken sandwiches and waffle fries. However, Chick-fil-A’s demographic isn’t exclusively hungover college kids, but anyone who wants a quick meal that costs little, tastes good, and doesn’t leave you sweating like you just went on a seven mile bike ride. A chicken sandwich and waffle fries for $6.00? This is quintessentially American. This is what the founding fathers were hoping for.
And the service! The employees act like working at Chick-fil-A is a fun hobby instead of a job. No matter how tired you are or how many times you change your order they’re still smiling from ear to ear; I don’t even think I’ve seen one of them blink. And they don’t bat an eye when you ask for seven packets of Chick-fil-A sauce with your two sandwich order. No, they smile and tell you to have a nice day. They understand. Even better, the food comes fast enough so that you don’t have time to regret ordering three chicken sandwiches, a vanilla shake and an order of waffle fries.
But why are you not open on Sundays? Do you know how many times a group of hungry people have hopped into the car to get ready for some chicken just for one person to suddenly realize that it’s Sunday and cause everyone in the car to let out the same exasperated groan? Even with your media troubles and questionable social stances, you are a family organization, Chick-fil-A, and families of all kinds would love to bond over a Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich and waffle fries without being binded by the limits of our weekly schedules.
