s-l300-1Wonder Woman follows the origins story of Princess Diana (Gal Gadot), before her time as a architect and moonlighting superhero. Audiences learn of the history and legacy of Diana’s birthplace, Themyscira, the hidden island of the Amazons, led by Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen). There, the Amazonians protect the “Godkiller”, a weapon created by the god Zeus in order to defeat Ares, the god of war who had once sworn to destroy humanity as they knew it. As Diana grew, her earnesty to learn the ways of the Amazons grew with it, as she trained in secret with General Antiope (Robin Wright). After a day of training and an unexplainable incident of power, Diana witnesses a mysterious plane enter the cloaked atmosphere of Themyscira, crashing into the water. After swimming to the crash, she rescues a pilot by the name of Steve Trevor (Chris Pine). Once the Amazons learn of his trespassing, Steve warns the kingdom of the oncoming Nazis that were sent to hunt them down and who had followed him into Themyscira. After a devastating battle between the Amazonians and German soldiers, Diana decides to join Steve in his journey back to London to report his findings to the government.  Convinced that the threat of the war is due to the manipulation and powers of Ares, Diana runs into battle with Steve and his group of war misfits.

Wonder Woman is worthy of all the awards nominated and won over the years. As the notable success of the DCEU, the work of Patty Jenkins and her team bring a new era of women power, femininity, and success to the franchise. The movie is action-packed and beautifully filmed and is fun for all ages.
