Ant Man is the origin story of Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), a retired cat-burglar who stumbles across the works of Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Pym Technologies. As Scott discovers the powers of Pym’s shrinking technology, he suddenly finds himself training to be the next Ant Man- much to Hope (Evangeline Lily)’s dismay. As he trains and befriends the world of ants alike, Scott’s skills are put to the test when Darren Cross (Corey Stoll) threatens the secrecy and existence of shrinking technology. Scott, Hope, and Hank must team up together to save Pym Technologies and the world as they know it.
Ant Man is a perfect combination of superhero action and comedy, alongside its predecessor, Guardians of the Galaxy. The humor is fun for all ages; appropriate for family, with a nice twist of discreet adult jokes. As Marvel continues their famous trend of superhero tropes, Ant Man is the refreshing and entertaining break to complete the serious tone that Marvel’s Phase Two sets. With a special appearance in Captain America: Civil War and a sequel released earlier this year, Ant Man and the Wasp (2018), Scott and the gang join the Avengers and the rest of the superhero gang as an official part of the MCU.

I’m a full-time student at SDSU, pursuing a degree in Rhetoric & Writing Studies and a minor in Digital and Media Studies. I’m also one of the Music Promotions Directors/Radio Host at KCR College Radio and part of the NBC 7 & Telemundo 20 Street Team, as well as an enlisted solider in the Army National Guard for nearly six years. And now here, as an intern for GeekRockTV! Needless to say, I like to keep busy. In between all the craziness, I’m a big fan of Marvel films and comic books in general. Not to mention, I’m a 11 year veteran of San Diego Comic Con! I’ve been going since 2007 consecutively, and have met celebrities ranging from Youtube content creators to Marvel actors on the silver screen. Aside from the convention center and studio, bookstores and coffee shops are a second home to me. | Instagram @KCRTishTalk | View My Articles
