Guardians of the Galaxy

MV5BMTAwMjU5OTgxNjZeQTJeQWpwZ15BbWU4MDUxNDYxODEx._V1_.jpgMarvel takes their stories to the stars! Fans are taken to space as the ravaged Starlord- A.K.A. Peter Quill- (Chris Pratt) scavenges across the galaxy nearly 20 years after his mysterious abduction from Earth after his mother’s death in the 80s. As he stumbles across a dangerous and highly desired orb, Peter crosses paths with many armed hunters with their eyes on his new discovery; amongst these, a henchmen for the power-thirsty Kree, Ronan (Lee Pace). Ronan actively searches for the orb throughout the film, as audiences learn of his subordination to Thanos (Josh Brolin), who has begun to collect the Infinity Stones. One of which, is located within the orb. However, Ronan is not the only one on the hunt for the orb, nearly catching Peter off guard after his failed attempts at selling the artifact on the planet Xander. This huntress, Gamora (Zoe Saldana), quickly fights Peter for the orb, attracting unwanted attention from on-goers on the planet Xander. Amongst those, a tree alien named Groot (Vin Diesel) and his partner, Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), another pair of bounty hunters eager for some quick cash. As the four begin to create bigger havoc in the streets, they are all eventually tied down and shipped off to a jailing facility by the Xander police force. As this new rag-tag team is forced to work together to break out of jail, they are joined by the likes of Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), bloodthirsty for revenge against Ronan for murdering his family during his hunt for the orb. With this newly founded, dysfunctional team bonded together, the fight to protect the galaxy begins.

Guardians of the Galaxy was considered to be a potential risk for Marvel, introducing a new slate of characters in a world that had not been explored in prior movies before. However, this risk proved to be worth it. This film not only brings a refreshing, new take on an origin story, but also brings Marvel fans alike to the mystical ways of space. Thrown in with an amazing 80s soundtrack and a group of comedic geniuses, Guardians of the Galaxy is a guaranteed hit for all audiences to enjoy.
