Cheryl Ladd

Gala-banner-crop-666x381Cheryl Ladd is an American actress, singer, and author is best known for her role as Kris Monroe in the popular ABC television show Charlie’s Angels which ran until it’s cancellation in 1981. She entered into Hollywood through music in 1970 by playing the voice of Melody Valentine on Hanna-Barbera’s Josie and the Pussycats. From there she landed a number of roles in television and film and continues to work on upcoming projects that we, unfortunately, were unable to get any details on.

During our interview with Cheryl Ladd, she presented herself with a poise and elegance that was befitting of someone with her experience. Our interview started off with a small promotion to the show Malibu Dan the Family Man, in which she plays the role of the main character’s mother. Ladd expressed how much enjoyed the role and taking part in the show as she mentions her view on the character.

Upon asking Ladd on her views of the Movieguide awards, we got an earnest heartfelt response as Ladd expressed how much the faith means to her and how much she loves these types of events when stating “Well, I just love that this exists.” She proceeds to share some background on herself on how her faith has kept her going.

When asked for some advice for future filmmakers and actors that seek to get into the industry, Ladd’s firm belief in faith shows as she mentions that “Well, I think you pray about it first. That comes first.” Ladd continues to give good advice in mentioning that one really needs to have the dedication and really know what he or she wants to do. Because without any love for your craft or for the work that is needed then there really is no way for one to succeed.

Host: Hey everyone Machelle Noel here at the 2019 Movieguide Awards celebrating the top inspirational and uplifting films with the stars at the red carpet.

Host: Machelle Noel over at the 2019 Movieguide Awards. Joining me right now is Cheryl Ladd. Cheryl thank you so much for being here tonight. I’m such a huge fan of your work. I’ve grown up watching you and I’m so glad that you’re here. And you’re here to promote Malibu Dan The Family Man, so this is exciting. Can you tell us a bit more about this particular project?

Cheryl: Well Malibu Dan, obviously is an adorable show, and I got to play his mother.

Host: okay. I know…

Cheryl: I know it was so fun and full of laughter. It was a great part. She’s a great woman.

Host: Awesome

Cheryl: She’s kind of a tough cookie in her way, but she’s got a heart of gold.

Host:  Oh, I love that. Now, given the fact that we’re at the Movieguide awards, what does this particular event mean to you?

Cheryl: Well, I just love that this exists. That these family friendly and faith films are being made. You know, I had a lot of conversations when I was a very young girl with our maker and let him know my heart’s desire was and he’s been with me the whole way.

Host:  It’s just like God is your agent right? He just takes you all the way.

Cheryl: That’s right. He’s all of our agent.

Host:  This is true. Thank you for saying that. I love that. Okay, what’s your inspirational wisdom or biblical verse that you live by?

Cheryl: Oh golly. So many. Oh golly…

Host:  How about this? What inspirational advice would you give for actors and filmmakers who want to get into this industry?

Cheryl: Well, I think you pray about it first. That comes first. And I think you just have to really have a dedication and understand what it is you want to do, because the spotlight is fun. But what I really love is the work. I love my craft. I love getting together with all this group of people and creating something that is going to hopefully inspire or entertain a lot of other people. It’s just such a great privilege.

Host: Is there any particular projects that we should be out looking for in the future besides the family man?

Cheryl: Well…I have one that I’m going to be working on, but I can’t talk about it yet. Sorry.

Host: It’s alright, but we’ll get you next time. Well Cheryl, thank you so much for being here from the 2019 Movieguide awards. I’m Machelle Noel with Cheryl Ladd. Hopefully, we’ll see you guys next time. Buh Bye.

My name is Eddieson. I’m an open minded dreamer that likes to look for new opportunities, experiences, and challenges in life to make things a bit more interesting. After graduating from San Diego State University with a Japanese degree and minor in Business,  I landed an office job in Shinjuku, Japan where I dealt with online marketing matters as well as content creation. Though I come from an international business background I could never escape the alluring call of an emotionally manipulating story, regardless of the medium, that could turn the toughest body builder into a two year old child watching The Muppets and eating “pig newtons”. So long as the story is well done it doesn’t matter to me whether it’s presented as a comic, video game, anime, book, movie, or even an interpretive dance with bananas and jello. After some intense independent study I have not only been more than inspired to join the industry, but brought to a point where I wonder why I gave up pursuing this stuff in college and turned to a course of pulling my hair out before each exam. Regardless, I love stories and hope to be presented with the opportunity to tell my own; most likely through writing. With a fire in my heart and goals set I am actively gaining skills each day to hopefully one day help others in their endeavors as well as achieve my own dreams. |Instagram @BlaEddieBlaView My Articles
